TSComp ACD ECU review
@tscompusa
I can't find a subsection in the Vendor forum, so I'll just leave this here. So, I got to autox the car this past weekend. I figure if there is a way to torture test a tuned ACD, this would be it. The course consisted of some tight loops, a nice open straight, and some technical stuff. I've driven courses at this location before, so am pretty familiar with how my car works. Here are my thoughts, in random order: "wow.. this rotates off-throttle like crazy" (I was on cold tires; first lap) "wow. I can carry more speed through this turn". "wow.. I can get on the gas sooner" "wow, the car no longer pushes when using part throttle out of a turn." (i used to have to wait for the car to be near straight or REALLY get on it and control the oversteer) I could go on, but those were my thoughts the entire weekend. The car just turned sharper and felt smaller. I was no longer waiting for the front to grip, the rear to "catch up", etc. I may even be able to dial back a bit of RSB. Everything felt a LOT more neutral. I think the decel-induced rotation was what I noticed first. It's really nice to be able to change the attitude of the car by modulating/letting off enough to get desired rotation on entry AND getting on the gas a bit extra to get the rear out on exit. Lots of options there. I can't say enough good things about how much better the car drives. I did, however, not do so well because i was having to re-learn the car. OH! That was THE biggest difference: I had to re-learn timing on my turn in. I kept turning in too soon, expecting the car to take longer to go in. Now it just dives and turns, like, right NOW. My first few laps involved my turning in... then back out... then back in again LOL. I was able to carry speed longer, brake later, and then turn in just a bit after the point I normally would. Man, this car is going to be fast out there. Now.. to get it to the track. Thanks, Tom. I knew I'd love this ECU and I've been kicking myself for waiting so long. Here is vid of my failed enduro run. You can go ahead and laugh. I was "off" all weekend. I just couldn't get my head in the game and we only got one run. I choked. :lol: I'm not sure if you can tell how the car is reacting, though.. You really just have to feel it to believe it. **edit: This was on the "tarmac/snow" setting, as seen in the video. I didn't dare try "drift mode" LOL |
Bump because this probably got buried and lost under RallySportDirects Black Friday spam.

What turbo is that, it sounded great ( Tony the tiger voice)?Once you learn your new setup, you should be A-OK champ !

Good stuff. You can tell from the footage that the car rotates a lot better than in stock form. I will definitely be looking into this.

That's pointing it mildly. It's no Miata, but so much better. :lol: |
great review. that was the exact same thing i noticed the most - OFF throttle turn-in, better turning without creating an oversteer problem.

So what was the weird RF flat feel you felt on one of the turns?

^ think it's related to the ACD tune?

how many of the different modes did you try? Was each pretty significant?
