i figured I was just seeing if their was anything I could use temp wise while I drive it about an hour away

For an hour's drive probably any GL-4 transmission gear oil will work. Avoid GL-5 or anything that claims to be both GL-4 and GL-5. GL-5 contains additives that will chew brass parts.
