Evo 8 undertray

Getting ready to drive 2.2K miles for my move to the Phoenix area. Ive got the oem undertray, but have never installed it. What clips will I need and where can I get them without paying stealership prices?

Honestly just leave it off, it's more trouble than it's worth. I've done many road trips without it and everything been fine for 3+years now. Or get a splitter, much less work to take off.

You can try an automotive store like autozone and look for the sizes you need but it still ends up costing about $50 in clips lol and you'll probably have to go a couple stores as they probably won't have enough. I got tired of buying them and just started using zip ties. Currently my undertray is off bc it's just a pain if you work on the car a lot. You can order them on ebay and get like 100 clips for cheap but it will take several weeks to arrive from China.

There's detail on the tray in the service manual.

You can download it at http://evoscan.com/vehicle-manuals

It's on page 2 of GR00001300-51.pdf

The 8/9 undertray can be attached with speed/U-nuts and 8mm Allen bolts and washers. :)

Kind of wish there was a better aftermarket solution for under trays. I know Buschur used to make them before.

just go to auto store and get anything similar to this:

used these for YEARS on my evo. when i'd take the under tray off I'd just put them in hot soapy water to clean them off and not let them get gummed up. never broke a single one

I mean, this **** costs like $30 at ace hardware. And it lasts forever..

Does it last for ever? Most of those bolts will start to rust up pretty quickly.

I drove from NM to SC back in 2013, so I've done a long trip before. Is it fun? Nope, lol. Thanks for the suggestions everyone, I bought a 50 pack of the plastic push pins from eBay, will be installing today and update later on.

Mission successful, ebay clips worked like a charm. Had to use a few zipties on the front lip area, but ot seems to be holding. Went highway speeds and all is well, be nice if this helps fuel economy and keeps the engine bay cleaner
