Evo's at RallyNY
My club and I went to Rally NY just past weekend to work as Course Marshalls (the people who keep the spectators off the dirt roads). We had an exciting weekend and want to share some photos.
http://www.diondevries.com/rallyny/r...0Corner(1).JPG There were a lot of Evo's (Evo IV to VIII), but only one VIII. I actually didn't expect any VIII's to show up. But he was car #1 and throughout the whole Rally he was ahead of everyone by a pretty big margin...that is until special stage 9 where he blew his rear diff and fell to 9th place. 10th stage his car died 1.3 miles away from the finish line and had to be towed. We were all very upset. Here's the link to Dion's photos http://www.diondevries.com/rallyny/r...on/Mitsubishi/ Here's the link to My photos (lower quality) http://www.diondevries.com/rallyny/rallynygus/ Feel free to search around the site and find pictures of other cars. when is the next?
i deff wanna go! |
Actually, it really depends year to year. Two years ago it was around the Fall. This time around it was in the Spring. I think part of it is due to the fact it switched from a SCCA sanctioned event to NASA (relatively new org.) So, when the next one comes up, I'll post a reminder. I encourage everyone to go because Rally is where Evo's Belong--and no where else.
Gus p.s. I also have photos of the 2002 RallyNY event, if enough people wants to see it, I'll dig it out and post it. |
