What's the verdict on the Infinity sound system?

I haven't seen much discussion about the Infinity sound system availalbe in 04 Evos. How does it sound? Vast improvement over the 03? As good as a medium-priced aftermarket system and subwoofer? Worth the money, or no?

It sounds good and a little more bass than the stock 03 Evos. The good thing about this option is the fit and finish and it goes with the factory warranty. :mitsu:

Its one of the best stock stereos I've ever heard. The upgraded sound in the '04 is very nice. I personally love it in my car.

Thats not true at all. If I got a decent system in a luxury car (some Bose systems and definitely Harmon Kardon) I would definitely leave it. You simply cant match the balance and clarity of these systems with an aftermarket system short of spending thousands of dollars on a custom stereo system.

I listened to one and i would get it (after verifying its weight)

stock bose systems are awsome... my dads work truck sounds like crap compaired to my moms bose in her h2.... of course its not going to sound like an aftermarket but its going to sound a whole lot better then "stock" or in this case the base model stereo.

Bose... A sure sign of a tone-deaf person, or one that has never heard anything better, is one who supports Bose.

"no highs, no lows, must be Bose!" --that catchy little phrase didn't just invent itself. ;)

the Infinity system is decent but not worth paying for. I don't like sunroofs either, but bully for anyone that does. regarding being one of the better stock systems, you have apparently never heard the subwoofer equipped Lexus and Mercedes systems. I realize that's kind of an apples-to-oranges comparison, but the point is still valid: the Infinity Evo system isn't all that special.

The Infinity Sounds like poop. The stock '03 stereo sounds like poop on a stick. Bose systems sound like poop on a stick with candy coating. Save the cash on the ontions, and spend it on aftermarket.

Bose is horrible unless you like classical music

FstApexEvo Aug 6, 2004 12:10 PM

lol it should have more bass than the stock component with a sub in back.

EVOL 8 Aug 6, 2004 12:10 PM

I like the infinity. I am not an old bastard...I just don't see the point in needing anything louder or heavier.

andyevo Aug 6, 2004 12:14 PM

BOSE system in my RSX Type-S was terrible. The stock MItsubishi system in the EVO is better.

I had a Volvo Premium sound and that thing rocked! Bass was unbelievable and it was so clear, you would think it was an aftermarket system.

It was volvo 960.
