What's this?
I've been doing some Whois searches for sites related to the US Evo and I came across this one: WWW.2003LANCERASX.COM
Here is the information that Whois spit out: Registrant: Mitsubishi Motor Sales of America (2003LANCERASX-DOM) 6400 Katella Ave. Cypress, CA 90630 US Domain Name: 2003LANCERASX.COM Administrative Contact, Billing Contact: Mitsubishi Motor Sales of America (E27261-OR) jill_hoppy@deutschinc.com Mitsubishi Motor Sales of America 6400 Katella Ave. Cypress, CA 90630 US 714.372.6000 Technical Contact: WorldNIC Name Host (HOST-ORG) namehost@WORLDNIC.NET VeriSign, Inc. 21355 Ridgetop Circle Dulles, VA 20166 US 1-888-642-9675 Record last updated on 09-Nov-2001. Domain servers in listed order: NS56.WORLDNIC.COM 216.168.225.196 NS55.WORLDNIC.COM 216.168.225.195 Anybody have any ideas? What does that ASX stand for? |
First, can I say you're the master snooper :) You find the news of the Evo coming and now you find this future site that Mitsubishi hasn't even created!!! :)
I found this link which has something about the ASX. I didn't read it, but it I think it said something about an SUV or something. I don't think it's related to the Evo. Here's the link: http://www.mitsubishi-motors-euro.co..._overview.html Mark |
Yeah I've seen the ASX at an auto show I think. I thought it was supposed to be its own model and not a type of Lancer? There's no way that the ASX I saw at the auto show resembles the normal Lancer in any way. Weird. I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

hope it's not true. we get the evo, but it's a suv

Some other sites I found that are registered to Mitsubishi Motor Sales of America:
www.mitsubishiralliart.com www.mitsubishiralliart.net These sites were registered on Oct 2, 2001. I can't wait to purchase some RalliArt parts for my Evo. And of course I'll buy some RalliArt stickers to slap all over my car too. :D |
i posted this message on the ASX here: http://www.lancerforums.com/forums/s...2571#post22571
the ASX is a SUV built on the lancer platform. I don't know why the domain name would be "lancerasx" unless its just dedicated to those two models. http://www.autogazeta.com/index.pht...atalog&cat=4227 |
Rax:
If you slap ralliart stickers all over your evo and I see you on the road I will punt you so hard you will think you were in a twin t or launched off an aircraft carrier!:lol: |
:p :lol:

Some more!!!
Here's a few more I've found. All the domains are registered by Mitsubishi Motor Sales of America (lots of good ones lately :D), except for mitsubishievo.com and mitsubishievovii.com. They're registered by Deutsch Inc, the company that does MMSA's marketing. One of these is bound to have official info sooner or later. We just got to keep on checking. Maybe I'll make this thread a sticky...
Domains and registration date: www.mitsubishievovii.com Dec 10, 2001 www.mitsubishievo.com Dec 10, 2001 www.evolution8.net April 29, 2002 www.lancerevo8.com June 4, 2002 www.lancerevoviii.com June 4, 2002 www.evolutionviii.com June 5, 2002 www.evolutionviii.net June 5, 2002 www.2003lancerevo.com June 5, 2002 www.2003evolution.com June 5, 2002 www.2003evo.com June 5, 2002 I'll update the list if I find anymore. :) |
ASX = Outlander
Lancer ASX was the working title for the upcoming Outlander
sport utility being introduced later this year. I'm glad they decided to give it a different name considering we still have to explain the difference of Monteros and Montero Sports to confused potential buyers everyday. Imagine the Lancer family including the current sedan, the Sportback, the Evolution and almost this SUV. Pretty soon you'll start seeing something about a PSU, which is the code name for the next SUV Mitsu is going to roll out sometime next year. |
