Anyways here is the rumor and Mitsubishi does surf this site.

The info i've recieved.
1. Guarantee 270+hp Probably 273 -3 from euro spec.
2. Seats are almost identical but the US spec, which was shown to him, was leather rapped recarios. We'll see what happens.
3. 3 week till the evo 8 is released in Japan.
4. 5-speed since Mitsubishi is uncertain that their 6-speed is reliable enough for the 3yr warrantee. "from the sound of that is seems like junk or possibility of being junk"
5. Xenon's definitely not standard but hopefully it's an option.
6. Us spec intercooler is not side mounted but offset to pass 5mph bumpers but he claims no performance lost.

I sat in the car and the Evo has a smooth 5 speed like the M3 I use to have. I conclude the Subaru’s trans is junk in comparison. Seats were a little on the tight side probably need 1-2" wider to be perfect. If you have a bean pole/average build the seats would fit fine.

Just want to share this info if the rep hasn’t' already.

It was the yellow euro evo vii though. First time i sat in an evo :D.

Forgot to mention that he said the seats are 80% identical. Probably no center diff or ayc but we'll find out for sure. He also said i won't see it at the dealer probably till Febuary but, i don't think he know's that i'm number uno on the list.

Hard to believe Mitusbishi has only one person i've seen 1 stock evo, 1 modded evo, and 1 outlander on the whole floor? Only giving away Mitsubihi bags and no infomation. I think it's open to the public tommarrow? I forgot to ask about the rear wipers. Can anyone ask for me?

the car has to have a center diff if it is AWD, it will just not have the center Active diff. and we don't want the AYC is it junk anyway. Mitsu had bunch of recalls on those units anyway.
We would be stoked if we get the RS rear diff.

BTW - if anyone wants an AYC rear diff I have one sitting at my shop.

LEATHER Recaros?!?! I hope not. :rolleyes: Couldn't they just use some grippy fabric like is on the current Evo VII seats? Leather is waste of money on an Evo. The extra cost of leather should be put towards performance related items.

Not shocked to hear about the quality of the 5spd transmission. Probably the #1 reason I got my little Lancer... I had enough transmission headaches with my Jeep to last me three cars. Anyway, sucks that no 6spd will be available in this "evolutionary" stage, but, any word on the possibility of that sequential 5spd?

the 5speed on the EVO is actually very bulletproof. Way better than the WRX box. We run the stock 5speeds on out 400hp rallycars.

Sorry about that. I meant to write no ACD. No center would mean off road full time 4wd. It was a typo b/c i type it a couple of times since cookies didn't work with lancerforums link but with evolutionm.net. Mark has it straighten out now.

Anyways, he did mention a carbon wing larger than the one on the euro VII and they are strongly considering "Evolution" instead of Evolution VIII since it's going to be the first in the U.S.
