carbon fiber trunk

What the hell? I just got my cf trunk from seibon and i put it on and it sits to high...the right side of it is out and up to far......i tried messing with the hinges but it didnt help.............Does anyone know if u have to sand down the trunk somehow or something?????????? It looks really stupid right now...

try drilling out the holes on the trunk hinges so you can adjust it back and forth and side to side, then i suggest trunk pins

i tried drilling them but it just doesn't seem to work...i think im gonna bring it to a body shop...............Trunk pins??? they actually make them

i mean they are the same thing as hood pins, just use it with the trunk, most carbon fiber trunks wont fit right, the pins are used to pull it down to make it sit flush

where can u but them at???? cause i was just thinking about lowering the latch on the bumper part to make the trunk go down farther to sit in flush

on opposite sides of the trunk on top, like where the wing would go, if you lower the latch it wont lock in properly, but i suppose you could try

that will probably help push the trunk down, it is must a fact that carbon fiber trunks dont sit very well...best of luck, sorry i couldnt help you out

i got a seibon cf hood and trunk. i just brought mine to the bodyshop. they lined it up right. dont know what they did, but it looks good.

I've read a few threads about this and I think you can avoid a trip to the body shop.
1. reverse the latch on the trunk, (upside down I guess)
2. Have a buddy sit inside your trunk and help you adjust from inside, someone on here did it and it worked. lol
3. Use washers and whatnot, to adjust the gaps.

Try searching. I know theres some threads about this exact problem

Old thread but I just put my Seibon on my MR and it was easy as pie. Just had the move the latch on the body up a little.
