Cheap and easy trunk lid "handle"
I don't like closing my trunk lid by putting my fingers on the spoiler or outside, because it leaves fingerprints and can scratch dirty paint. Most cars nowadays have inside closing handles, but not the Evo, which has just sharp sheet metal. I'm the same way....I would use the Lancer Evolution emblem to close. No good... I like your idea....Suggestion: I would go up the edges a little more..maybe an inch....just to make sure.

I do that sometimes, too. Other times, I don't have the key in the trunk lock (for example, when I've popped it from inside the car), and then my handle comes in, er, handy.
