If anyone has done this mod, make sure you get some type of filter/breather in place to keep moisture out. It seems one of our members has seen his fuel filter gel as a result of no filter and his FPR has some rust so it doesn't seat properly.

I just did this mod and need to get a filter on there. I guess I will check for universal ones at the auto parts store.

I'm not sure if the 9 head is different but I used a 12mm NSS plug to block off the port. The hole is 10mm across, measured with a vernier, and 1/8 is 9.54mm or something. When I put the 1/8 Npt plug I had into the hole it just fell in, bit of a struggle to pull it back out. Tap a 12mm x 1.75 NSS tap about halfway in and screw in the 12mm plug. You might need to tap a bit deeper until you can screw in the plug flush. It's a very tight fit so no need for any thread locker, that sucker ain't going anywhere.

It's for the gas tank not the head.
http://www.lubetechnologies.com/desi...breathers.html is the company he is going to try out for the check valved breather.

According to my rom I have disabled the EGR system (it says to set it to 0 to disable). I'm running Tephramod 7 on my IX. I also have HKS 272 cams but never got this before making the swap and removing the EGR stuff.
I cannot find any information on how to log mivec in evoscan but I really need to figure out why this code popped up after doing the install and removing the EGR. If anyone has any info please reach out to me. PM is good as I don't get to check the forums as often as I like.
Here is how to log MIVEC, you only need to enable the Intake side for a IX since we don't have it on the Exhaust side. Good luck, I'm working on trouble shooting the P0011 code myself.

If I'm not mistaken it's where you have the cap ziptied in the first pic under in the rear of the car.

Just did my egr delete following this thread. Does anyone have a link to a check valve used in this step: Optional: Place the check valve with the side that was connected toward the intake manifold VTA and the other end on the EVAP purge line that comes into the engine bay (the fat one where it would connect to the bracket)

I not 100% how the Evap delete work. So I need to black off the port in the head, and remove the box near the rear tire?

It's optional to remove the evap equipment in the rear of the car. What most do primarily is use a block off plate for the EGR valve, remove the vacuum lines, solenoids. Some go as far as to remove the intake manifold and plug the port in the cylinder head for the EGR. Everything is on page 1 step by step.

Thanks for the awesome write-up. I don't plan on deleting my EGR, but this helped me find my way around the intake when replacing the valve.
