I've done this many times in the past without issues but, am having an odd problem with a IX RS currently running 88590715 (v7 + Mods), which has most of this stuff disabled in the peripheries already.

The issue is that when I go to start the car revs up to about 2k for a moment than falls back down and stalls. The next starting attempt it'll rev up to 1500k for a moment than stall. Each successive start up is the same, it'll start just fine, rev to 1500k for a moment than stall.

All I've changed was remove the FPR solenoid, EVAP solenoid, EGR vacuum regulator solenoid and the EGR valve. I plugged the left over nipples on the intake manifold and have also plugged the line that leads to the engine bay from the charcoal canister. I've done this same thing prior on countless VIIs and a bunch of IXs but, never encountered this issue.

My thought is something disable or enable incorrectly in the peripheries but, I've looked over them and they look correct for the EGR/EVAp disable stuff.

Anyone else run into a similar problem that could lend some advise? Thanks

What does your A/F look like when this happens? Are you on Speed Density?

I figured it out last night. For some reason the 8890715 v7 (mods) ROMs posted do not have the JDM MAP sensor .xml info included. Once I figured that out I simply added the info and was good to go.

Great writeup!

Quick question. I removed everything and put a block off on the EGR now im getting a surging type feeling with the boost. It idles great tho. Any ideas?

so if i get rid of the entire egr/evap system, how can i disable the cels to pass emissions (both visual and plug in)??

i removed the evap system on my track car and have a cel. the evo is my dd

Ill be performing this this weekend once the block off plate comes in. ****ty thing is i just took my IM last night to clean it all out cause of all the **** that was in there. But oh well. haha

Any specific brand you went with? I was thinking about the high temp locktite, but i was curious what you used since you have had no issues since you installed your plug.
