Hope this helps

As I stated above ...^ , I used a new universal sensor off a Montero. Because both are of four wire type and are identical to spec US VIII-IX's sensors.

REAR O2

WIRES COMING OUT OF CAR UNIVERSAL WIRE BOUGHT FROM STORE

BLACK---------------------------------><--------------------------BLACK

BLUE/STRIPE-------------------------><--------------------------WHITE

WHITE---------------------------------><--------------------------GRAY

RED/YELLOW--------------------------><------------------------WHITE

"---><--- " :means wires are spliced and connected.

I choose to cut the connector(female) coming from the car,not really neccesary,but I felt it was easy for me. I haven't had any electrical issues and passed emissions withflying colors. Please when working around electrical items make sure battery is disconnected.

Is this tutorial practically identical for other models of the Lancer? I have an 03 Rally Ed. and I couldn't find a walk-through for my specific model.

While the information in this thread is extremely informative, I couldn't really find information describing the engine side of the harness and breaking it down. So I made a quick thing in excel to help me figure out where to wire a universal one straight into the oem harness.

Please correct me if this information is wrong, but I tested it to be correct on my 03 USDM Evo for the FRONT O2 sensor.

For future reference this wiring configuration works for the rear o2 on the evo x. Just completed the install on my '14.

You can get a new connector and crimp it on.
