How to make a Cool Air Scoop
Yup it's damn strong. Actually it's the resin I found to be strong. coZ if your resin is not thick enough you can basically break the CF up like a biscuit.

but a friend told me that CF is damn strong, i guess. good to know.

Yea depends on how many layers of carbon are actually used. It's strong stuff. On track day, that Auto Select R34 GTR (yellow with carbon front bumper, bonnet) hit my friend's evo 6. The evo was damaged and the GTR only broke a light. If it's done right ($$$) it's strong.
nice work on that scoop, specially like the carbon one.
Why didn't you guys make a tunnel with the scoop, kind of like the scoop from monster so that the air is funnelled in. I'm sure this design reroutes some cold air, but seems most of it may escape out the sides from the high pressure if you don't have something to route it.

I don't have the time or the tools to make one, but interessted in it. Is there anyway you are going to start selling these by chance? reply or PM me the price if you do decide to sell a couple of these.
i did the test with hair dryer to see how air flows on scoop.
i noticed 1/3 of air escapes to sides of scoop.
so i added a side wall using 22 gauge sheet metal instead of 26gauge metal. alot stronger too! but harder to work with...
i wish i know how to post a pic...

Depending on the price, I'd totally be up for a CF one once you start fabricating them the X...just FYI...this also works great if you cut the airbox when you install an aftermarket intake instead of wholly removing the airbox...great way to have a semi-CAI in the middle of the engine bay
seems like a great idea if someone could get it right i mean real right where you knew you could make them right and sell them i would buy one thinking of getting into designing one myself well i will trt thinking about it and let you guys know....
