start to finish took 3 days, only 2 or 3 hours of labor.
all you need is some very fine sandpaper (i used 2000 grit) 2 can of testors transparent candy apple red paint (they're really small cans) 1 can of anti yellowing clearcoat 1 bottle of mcquires polish foam polishing attachment for a power drill (or a buffer if you have it) 1) gently wetsand the surface for even out all the high spots 2) dry off and apply testors paint in very light coats 30 mins apart, i did 5 coats 3) let paint dry overnight before applying the clearcoat 4) apply 3 or 4 coats of clear 30 mins apart 5) let dry overnight 6) gently wetsand, very light don't wanna get down past the clearcoat 7) liberally apply the polish on the buffer pad and let it work it's magic, be carful not to overpolish, with all the weird lines it's easy to rub the paint off mine came out looking very stock with a nice shiny red tint that looks 100% better then that chrome ricer look. on a 1 to 10 scale of difficulty this is a 2..........for 2 year old. it was really really easy sorry for the crappy pics, all i got is the camera on my phone |
can you get the pics any bigger?
|
