HKS RS Intake won't fit my IX!!!
 

I just installed the intake or atleast most of it. I was ready to slip on the maf with the filter already attached but there's not enough room. I don't have the mushroom filter but I do have one that's short enough. I've been searching the threads in the how-to's to see if I was doing something wrong. The only thing I've noticed is that the my MAF looks further away from my UICP than ones I've seen on these boards. While I'm waiting for responses I'll take a couple of pics. Oh not that it should matter but I bought used from someone on here but I don't think it matters whether I have an VIII or IX

Mine is very tight, I have the hks filter, I would think that would be the only one short enough to fit

Well I know there are guys on here that said they replaced their filters with K&N and Apexi filters??? Thanks for the reply

mine is tight too.... dont think that there will be space for any other filter than the hks one.

damn batteries in the camera crapped out on me. I wanted to show how small the filter was that I bought. thanks for the replies.

with the hks filter there is still some room but with the apexi filter then its tight

i also have the HKS RS with the hks filter...very tight fit but it does fit.....heres a picture of mine.

I got a buschur intake and it was tight as well. Did you remove all the gold colored pieces? I had to unbolt that little reservoir tank and pull it over to put the filter on.

That is the reason why I bought the AEM CAI, I got lucky that I got it for a 100.00 bucks from a member here. I had no problem as far as install.

wow that sucks....thats why i made my own intake...for free and it fits perfect haha...

appreciate the help guys. i'm going to unbolt that reservoir and squeeze it in there. It'll be pretty tight but it might just make it. It's obviously too late now, besides the bolts that attach the maf to the adapter didn't come with it. I'll stop by SEARS tomorrow and when I get it in I'll take pics.
