Trunk pop solenoid install pictures

Hopefully these pics will help if your looking to install a remote trunk pop in your car. Sorry for the bad quality on pic #3 my camera won't focus that closely.

Wiring detals:
I found that there were already 2 wires nearby there, so I chose the green wire with the silver dots to use as the + trigger and then I grounded the other terminal of the solenoid to the trunk lid itself. The green wire runs up to the driver's side kick panel I cut it there and spliced in my trunk pop release output from my alarm at that point. A relay may or may not be needed for your particular install. Good Luck!

PICS NOT WORKING....

IS THIS DIFFICULT TO DO? A CAR-STEREO INSTALLER TOLD ME THAT SINCE WE HAVE A MECHANICAL RELEASE THAT WE CANNOT JUST DO IT ELECTRONICALLY, BUT THAT HE WOULD HAVE TO INSTALL SOMETHING ELSE. WHATEVER HE SAID IT WAS EXPENSIVE. PLEASE ELABORATE ON YOUR INSTALL. THANKS

sorry for the caps.

Pix should be back online tonight. Sorry!
It wasn't that difficult, just a bit of planning and trial and error.

Okay, I got a solenoid that looks the same as the one in the picture. I tried hooking up the alarm trigger wire directly to the solenoid, it wouldn't fire. So it looks like I'll have to route a power wire to the trunk and use a relay instead.

Also, how did you loop your cable around the latch? I can't really see it too clearly in the picture.

Okay after over a year of procrastination, I finally got around to installing my trunk pop solenoid. :) Here are my install pics:

Wiring up the side of trunk lid support:

Wiring split to solenoid and to relay:

I originally attached the trunk solenoid to the emergency latch, but that way didn't work very well as the spring on that latch is softer. Another issue I had with using that latch was getting the trunk switch to engage when the trunk was closed. My alarm would think the trunk was still open even though it was closed.

So I later attached the solenoid to the trunk release cable latch, which seems to work better, but it still doesn't open the trunk 100% of the time. I've spent many hours trying to tweak this setup, but the best I can do is to get this thing to open about 80% of the time. I already tried repositioning and reorienting the solenoid, but it didn't seem to make much difference.
