the most simple way to do it is to remove the front bumper, every other way will take more time and be more complicated, taking the bumper off the most simple way to do it. The bumper is only held on by a few bolts anyway.

This is one of the easiest things to do IMO. I took the bumper off and replaced two hid lights and took my time and did it in under an hour (with the stock understray and clips too). Lol I think mounting my mbc or mini battery install was harder than that.

I think the only way you can change the headlight bulbs is by removing bumper and the headlight. I tried taking the fender lining off and when I tried to remove the bulb, there was a metal bracket that restricts you from taking the bulb out. I had to take off the bumper and unbolt the entire headlight out in order for me to remove the bulb.

yeah it's pretty simple after the first time. once you actually attempt it, next time it should only take 10 mins... hands down!

Yeah, you kind of have to take off the bumper if you dont want to risk scratching or breaking anything.
Classic!!! I have had a lot of people fall for that one.

I will try this because the driver side bolt by the FMIC has rusted it and can't get it off. I can disconnect the low beam but can't get the blub out (there is no space). Thanks for the info, I can't find the old thread that had full directions on how to do it w/o dropping the bumper (and yes I did search).

The funny thing is in the Owners Manual not once does Mitsu say anything about pulling off the bumper to change the headlight.

just a heads up on the headlight housing, the 4 bolts are (2 at the top (visible), 1 in front of the radiator, and 1 on the outside of the house (covered by the bumper) so basically take off the bumper and life is easier. if you do happen to have a bolt that is rusted on and "rounded" off, if you can get the rest of the bolts off you can still complete the job. I hope this helps someone.
