Modyfying a Walbro.....

the mods 100% safe to do when you do it correctly.. the idea is to make the spring tension tighter on the ball so it still is able to lift, just not at the same psi anymore.
if you punch the cap in to far you will fully disable the safety valve which is not what you want to do.
the way to tell if you got it right is sit up and use a punch and hammer and tap it but feel the cap go down.. once it goes down some then check how far it went down.. you'll see where it was originally seated by walbro.. you wanna go down about the thickness of a penny.
this mod is far from dangerous when done right.. the valve still operates if you somehow manage to clog your fuel lines when the mods done right.
just thought id try to supply more info.
most people wont need past 100psi of fuel pressure anyways.. our base is what 43? so lets say you wanna run 50psi.. thats still only 93psi. 99% of community will never run 50psi.. even this day and age.
the same way i described is the same way Buschur does it.. its 100% safe & has absolutely no way of hurting the fuel pump under normal operation.
below pic is with the cap pushed in to far, but illustrates how the mechanism works. the original post shows this also, but these pics are more clear of the actual part:
