oem bov

I know that this has been talked about, but...

I have a turbo on my mirage and I have evo mr bov. Can I vent that bov?

Or it will leak at idle?

Thanks.

lol, please explain.

Here is my deal. I have never set up my tps on the emanage and the car idles at 1500rpm. While idling my bov is open. My blitz tt shows -.75

What could be my problem?

Are you sure you have the BOV going the right direction. The hat going to the intake pipe. That MR BOV shouldn't leak at all unless it's junk. Next thing dose your e-management use MAF or is it speed density. If it's speed density you will need to VTA. Do you have a boost gauge? If so are you more than - 20? If so you will need to get the idle down. If your using a MAF it can lean you out and cause a high idle.

It's installed properly. I'm using MAS.

Vacuum shows -.70 hkPa, which I think is -11 psi.

Is it -11 at 1500 rpm's? because thats not enough vacuum to open the valve. The EVO 2.0 can pull -15 to -20 at 800 to 1000rpm's. Is the BOV new or is it a used valve? I've went through a few valves myself. This is a link for a DIY mod for the stock plastic EVO valve it does work I've tried it. If you get the spring to tight you can get some bad compressor surge. https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...d.php?t=101677

My idle is high because I didn't set up me emanage yet.

Someone told me that vacuum will be off since my car idles at 1500rpm. I think it is -11, I know for sure that it's -.70 hkPa.

If the throttle plate is closed and your idle is high then that won't reduce your vacuum unless the IACV is wide open. Even then it should equalize.

-11 psi is actuially a lot of vacuum. There's a little confusion between a couple posters here and i think it stems from the fact that a standard autometer type boost meter shows vacuum in Inches Hg

20 inches of mercury = 9.8219556 pounds per square inch
11 pounds per square inch = 22.3987981 inches of mercury

If you are really pulling that then i would say you've got very healthy vacuum. It should actuially drop a little as the idle goes down.

however you said for sure it was -.70 hkPA... i don't know what the "h" is but if that's kilopascals then that's not much vacuum at all

(-.70) kilopascals = -0.101526416 pounds per square inch
