Yeah, PPI, MAP, etc are all good options to get your manifold ported.

Most places I've called are $175 or more. MAP does it for $349. Although, I'm sure MAP's quality makes it worth it to some.

I purchased an OEM one used and "was" thinking of porting it myself but may just clean up the carbon deposits and calling it a day.

I thought I read somewhere that if you purchase a 1g exhaust manifold gasket That it will make a perfect template for porting entry to the runners on the exhaust manifold

Can anyone confirm this? As I have not been able to find this info looking through various porting threads

Buy a dremmel and burring bit and port it yourself. In addition, get a polishing bit for your drill and smooth it out. I did my own and it works fine. I didn't do a before and after, so I can't tell you how much more power this makes.

If you want to buy, then FP cast manifold is probably the best deal because the internal flow at the collectors are better than stock.

Why won't you replace your exhaust manifold gasket with a new one and use the old as the template? The exhaust manifold isn't very thick, so be careful not to remove too much because if you have aftermarket O2 housing, your exhaust manifold is holding your turbo and O2 housing. To make matters worse, it gets more stress from engine movement between shifts.

If you match port, polish, hone runners, and modify collectors correctly, I would expect 5-10whp. If you mess up, you could lose power. It's not huge but it helps turbo spool faster.
When I did mine, I also modified my turbo hot side to reduce the congestion and went with aftermarket O2 housing. I can't tell you how much power each made but all my upgrades got me 430/400.
If you're not comfortable doing this, spend a little more and but the upgrade, which should make even more power.
