Aftermarket Radio Install in Infinity System

Hi Guys,

I recently installed a kenwood kvt-516 in my 8. The connections are all great, except the cable I connected from the din to the unit only had 4 outgoing cables for the front/rear speakers. The unit has two cables for the subwoofer, but my din cable connector did not.

Any ideas or a specific cable connector I'm going to need?

Current connection:

can you send us a pic so that i can figure it out...im a little confused. In most cases the additional wires assuming their for your speakers wouldnt need to be used since you connected the wires into the stereo

The din cable from the car connects to a cable I bought at best buy that has 4 cables on it.

2 For the front speakers
2 For the rear

On the radio,

it has 6 cables

2 for the front
2 for the rear
2 for the subwoofer.

I just havn't been able to find a different cable that can hook up the din from the car to the 6 on the radio.

Your car doesn't have a stock subwoofer. The harness you are looking for does not exist. The harness from best buy allows low level signal out of your radio into the factory infinity amp for the speakers curently in your car. The subwoofer pre-outs on the back of the radio are for if you add subwoofers you can control them independently.

You cannot control the sub independently on the stock infinity system. Sub is powered by the same amp as the speakers. With the mitah adapter. You need you hook it up the the front outputs and rear outputs only, nothing in the sub output and all your speakers should work exactly how they did with the factory HU.

If you want to control it independently, you would need a second amp just for the sub. I figured all of this out when I swapped my hu in my ssl evo 8.

Can the stock amp be removed and just use the aftermarket head unit to power the speakers or would the sound quality go down? I removed my factory sub so I really dont think I need the stock amp but looking for some opinions.
