HKS type 1 help for evo 9

ok so i hooked up my turbo timer. blue with the black and yellow wire for the speed (mph) and brown with brown and green for the rpm. I tried to do the rpm learn and it won't register rpms and wont read. i tried to rewire it and no luck. should i wire it right at the crank sensor connector right behing the valve cover or is there something else im missing. Also sometimes when i pull up the ebrake and have it on the timer setting when i shut off the car it doesnt run and the car shuts off when the key is off right away.

Sounds like you might have the brown wire hooked up wrong. If the E-brake wire (Should be brown) doesn't see ground (aka when the e-brake is up) then it wont let the car continue to run because it thinks the e-brake is down.

Try grounding out the parking brake wire. It's cheap way to bypass it but it'll at least let you know the parking brake wire is doing it's job...
