Don't play with the boost without being tuned!

Are you sure it's turned down and not just a massive boost leak?

well aside from what i said above, if the car is completely stock and you have a boost gauge installed, turn it up a little and then test. repeat until you get to stock boost levels like peak 19psi.

Im almost positive is not a leak. I've checked everything. And I dont have a Tuner close. Could somebody tell me how to turn it up tho. I have a Celica gt pushing 28 psi. And I'm just trying to put my evo to 15 psi because I'm impressed with the pull from only 8 psi. Anybody know where it's located to adjust it?? Or is it in the ecu??.

no one knows what your car has or doesnt have.

locate where the vacuum tube from the turbo outlet is run to. if its to a small stock electric switch mounted on the frame rail under the airbox then its stock (1 vac line in 1 out, no other ports or brand name stamped on it). meaning it most likely was NOT turned down, or if it was its ecu related (which i highly doubt).

because if the tcase was going out, ur right foot is the boost regulator.

if u follow the vac line and its to a weird looking metal tube about 3-4" long and theres a + - knob, thats a manual boost controller. usually clockwise is increase boost. but as others have warned, u need to be tuned so u shouldnt mess with it. if ur WOT and only seeing 8psi, and u have the manual boost controller, do a half turn and try and see where it gets too. but i suspect something else.

how do u know u dont have a boost leak? did u do a boost leak test?

Im not 100% positive there's not a leak. But I put new piping from my intake to my turbo and put a blow off on. Where else could it leak?? It's mounted solid to my headers.

I'd run a boost leak test to make sure you don't have a leak before proceeding any further. Like sujinX said, do you have a MBC? Also, get it professionally tuned. Don't ruin your engine just because you wanna feel the powaa, do it right. It always saves money in the long run.

I don't know where to go to run leak test. And nobody around here tunes awd. And I understand but 8 psi is as useful as an ebay POS intake fan booster that costs like 20 bucks. Lol im just trying to make it stock again. It's actually in the shop right now getting a new tcase. So when I get it back I'll look harder at it. I looked up the diagram and the actuator arm opens the waste gate at 10 psi. And the stock boost regulator is what allows it to go over that. Maybe my boost regulator is bad. I'm Hopeing it has a MBC. I haven't got terribly deep into it because of the weather and work. But I'll post an update in about a week when I get it back.

what sort of parts does the car have on it? if it's stock, have the shop flash the ECU back to factory and then start diagnosing from there

If you don't know how to "turn up the boost" on a turbo car even though you own another boosted car you should just not touch it and find a qualified shop.
