the cables pass through the firewall behind your center console there will be 2 bolts that hold it to the firewall remove these and then disconnect both shifter endlinks inside the engine bay these will be located underneath your battery tray, remove the pins and washers then slide the bushing off, remove the bushing from the cable loop(to prevent you dropping and losing the bushing) you will then have to remove your center console, 2 screws inside the cupholder hold down the back half while 3 screws hold the front half 2 are located underneath the rear section they will be easy to see once the back half is removed the other one is underneath the ashtray which will also have to be removed, you then will have to unhook the 2 side covers located near the firewall by your feet (both sides)there will be a screw or a push-type click(scene both on 2 bone stock cars) either way remove them, then unscrew your shift knob and slide up and remove the front half of the center console, you will then see the ends of the shifter cables connected to the bottom of the shifter they are held in by a wirejoint , again you can figure out how they are removed, there is another stay holding them down behind that and then you can pull the entire assembly through to the inside of the cabin

also if you’re replacing the cables the JDM cables work and are easier to get ahold of than the US version. You just need to shim one with washers make it fit.
