AEM UEGO wideband wiring to ecu
 

Hi guys, Can someone please help me with this,
Im trying to install AEM wideband , and i need to know how to wire it to my stock EvoIX ECU.
i know there is a way to , get 12V switched power and ground from the ecu and also , wire in the blue wire, so that when logging with evoscan and tactrix cable the data from the wideband can b logged as well from the ecu .
Does anyone know what im talking about that can help

I wired mine up to the cigarette lighter and using a chassis ground,
as for the data logging part i went radio shack and bought the connector it says here

Thanks for the reply, i Understand the power and grounding part fine, im confused with the data logging part.i have a few questions that will help me understand this better...
I use my laptop to log, via the Tacktix cable and Evoscan software, the cable plugs into my Usb port,and the other end plugs into my car under the steering wheel. the way u did it, using the connector u got, how would u hook it up to ur laptop, do u instal a female plug on the car, and then use two different cables (tacktrix cable , and male that fits the connector u installed to car) to log , ?please help, hope i phrased my questions correctly...
the reason i wanted to go through the ECU is, cause then i could use just the tacktrix cable, and the wideband data would be available through the ecu, at least thats what i was thinking,Lol ...

Once you got the db-9 connected to your gauge you can either plug it in the back of your laptop via the serial port or if your don't have a serial port then u need buy a serial to USB cable, once connected you need to find which port it is using, through the "hardware devices" option under properties in My Computer.
When you know what port it is open Evoscan go under wideband select AEM UEGO and the corresponding port.

Sweet man, thanks alot,{thumbup} thats what i needed to know. if u want to log other data as well beside just wideband u can just use the tacktrix cable along with the serial cable, is that correct?

yes sir you will need the Tacktix cable and Evoscan hooked up and running to view the and record the WB02

Actually, I've never heard of wiring a wide-band into the ECU. That's generally for a narrow band gauge that only shows lean/rich/stoich that wire into the ECU. Wide-bands such as the AEM use their own "wide-band" sensor. You have to plug the sensor into an extra O2 bung, which plugs into the guage. Then there is a power wire that you need to get a good ground and power to. That's it. Nothing to tap into the ECU for the AEM wide-band. I have the same gauge in my car.

where do you guys tap for power? are you using the ECU power?

I used the a empty slot in the fuse block .
Find a slot that powers up with the key on , with a Volt Ohm meter .

no the one right under the dash.

i used the the fuse box under the dash and got a part called "add a circuit" form autozone which taped in my cigarette lighter fuse, so in the end no cut wires
