Buschur MBC/ Synapse BOV install help
Ok so I have a Synchonic BOV installed on my ride already. I installed my Buschur MBC today like the majoity of the threads here explain to do. Which is:
Starting your line from the WG>MBC>T into the line between BOV and manifold. Then capping off all other lines not used. But with the synchronic there is three hoses total that come from the BOV. You have two hoses coming from the top that T into one that is directed to the manifold. Then you have your third coming off the side of the BOV that you T into the stock line running from your WG/Turbo Outlet> The Stock Boost Solenoid. So heres my question. If i take out the line coming from the WG/Turbo Outlet to put in the line to the MBC, I am also taking out the connection for the third line from the BOV. Where do i now T that line into? Any help is appreciated. |
Noboby knows? Or is it that obvious, you all are waiting for me to smack my forehead??

Ok i can help this...
keep in mind my set up isd for 23+psi with a hallman pro MBC http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...x/DSC03349.jpg in this pic the 2 outlets up top are teed off together. in a stock set up you can use either spicut. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...x/DSC03350.jpg T off to intake mani then t off to MBC. as shown above. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...x/DSC03351.jpg The side spicut goes into TRUE boost off of waste gate not sure how it goes as i cant see. Hope this helps bro |
Ok so when it comes to stuff that i have only gotten my feet wet in, i like to know everything before i do it. Your port C(side) of the BOV is going into the WG. Then your input on your MBC is T into that same line. And then your output from the MBC is T into the Mani vaccum line. That sound right?
BTW, thanks for the help! |
Me and my tuner finally got around to my car. After realizing that i could only boost about ~14psi, we went back and installed the BR MBC and tried a few different combinations with the vacuum lines. Finally after him tuning a bit the car pulls hard and shifts clean. I understand that its not really the shifting but the fact that the boost is building and holding right after shifting that makes it feel like an evo finally.:D I will post some pictures up on how it was done if anyone else runs into a snag with the Synapse BOV+ MBC.
On a side note, now that my car seems to be running like it should, i was watching the boost guage today while doing a few pulls and wasnt really that impressed. I did about 4 or 5 pulls 1st-3rd and the average seemed to be: 1st: 1.15 bar(16.7 psi) 2nd: 1.35(19.6) 3rd: 1.45(21) All of these with EXTREME taper. So i tried loosening all my couplers, readjusting them and tightening the piss out of them. I noticed that the vacuum nipple on the bottom of the suction pipe that goes from there to the stock solenoid got busted off. I yanked the vacuum line at one point, pretty sure thats what did it. But anyway i am going to find a way to seal it up tomarrow. I have searched and read a lot on taper but it seems to be a mix of problems or either how the turbo was designed to perform. Would you all say it is because of that leak there or perhaps maybe my WG is getting old. BTW the car has 94.5k on it. Thx. Jon. Please no smart ass comments, i just do not wanna post a new thread since this is still dealing somewhat with the primary issue i was having. |
BTW if a moderator has a problem with the way the thread is heading, i do apologize. Have not made too many post as you can see, and wasnt sure if it would be easier to just keep this one running.

He Guys,
I've finally installed my Synapse BOV in my EVO IX. Below are some pictures that I took to explain the process. 1 - Since I'm running the ETS Intake Pipe Kit, I went to Autozone and brought a Heater hose (I got it for the angles). If you look at the pic below you can see what angle I used to fit the recirculating end of the BOV. https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/at...1&d=1241094636 2 - This set-up is very simple and straight forward, I split the Vacuum Boost source to Ports A & B of the Synapse BOV. You can either use the T-Shape splitter or the V shape. In my opinion, I would go with the V-shape as I did below. https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/at...1&d=1241094633 3 - The Boost Only Source, I T'ed it from the MBC to the Turbo Compressor, and you'll all done. https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/at...1&d=1241095607 https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/at...1&d=1241095618 4 - For ETS users that have the UICP and Intake Pipe kit, the fitment of the BOV will be close to the UICP, you can try to wiggle it in a way so that BOV isn't that close to the pipe but I end up putting a one sided mesh tape in between the BOV and UICP just in case there's any rubbing. https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/at...1&d=1241096047 NOTE: I placed the one-sided mesh tape on the UICP. https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/at...1&d=1241096130 I hope this helps a bit, I'm not a install expert but I do try. |
ok, ive got the injen icp/intake kit. im guessing going re-circ is the way to go with this bov. i tried doing vta & under light load, the car would bog down bad.
