i have an evo8 and recently my service light came on.after a month i went to get it reset.after they ran it in the computer it show random miss fire and o2 sensor bank2.so i got the o2snsor to change it but now im still let with the miss fire code.my mech told me that the egr valve is probly cloged and is causing the miss fire.....did any one have this issue with their evo? and how did you fix it?

I also have an egr solonoid valve issue that were trying to take care of since its sitting, un-registered and in unspected first, to bad the parts are 141$ alone.

i havent had that problem and dont really know how a clogged egr can make a misfire. i can under stand if its stuck open itll cause it. how old are your plugs? what are they gapped at? do you have cams and or a tune?

If you haven't fixed the problem, check your EGR and make sure that the vacuum lines that run to it are actually hooked up.

I had crazy misfire issues and was informed to check the vac lines on the EGR valve (thanks again GST). Problem solved... use a zip tie and a bit of hair spray to keep the line from popping off.

Remove your EGR valve, install an EGR block-off plate, and disable the EGR emissions checks in your ECU :D Cheap, easy, simple!

do you maybe have aftermarket exhaust ? not running a simulator? this could trigger the o2 code.if so return the o2 sensor and buy the 3 dollar spark plug non foulers

i just removed the egr from the ecu and unplugged the vacuum going to it

f*** I ended up finding out it was the hose for the egr , and still bought a used egr valve ... SMH wish i would have read this before .. +1

where is the hose on the egr valve? Is there one right on the egr valve or is it on the manifold itself? Does anyone have a picture?

Egr valve

I got quoted at the dealer for $260 for both parts and labor. Is that to expensive? How much is the parts itself? And its it difficult to do it myself?
