How To: Injector Connectors
Hey All,
Kaizenspeed put together this really informative "How-To" on injector connector install and I thought I would share. Enjoy, Fastlearner Changing injectors is really an easy task but when you have to change connectors all of a sudden people hesitate to buy a set. "Should I get pigtails or pins?" That's always the next question. Since most guys don't have and have never used a "W" type crimper, they have to solder on pigtails. Crimping your own pins using a "W" type crimper is easy to do, if you have the right tool. And we're now including a crimper tool with every set of Injector Dynamics injectors purchased from KStuned.com so you won't ever have to solder pigtails again. • Crimping injector pins is easy and there’s no cleaner method. • Crimping your own pins eliminates the need to solder pigtails. The crimpers that we include can crimp any “W” type pin including weatherpack. It’s a great addition to anyone’s toolbox. Below you’ll find a step-by-step tutorial on how to crimp injector pins using our supplied crimper. The link to the original source is: http://www.kstuned.com/articles/how-...ctor-pins.html Step 1: Cut off your OE injector connector. http://www.kstuned.com/files/content/0/142-1.jpg Step 2: Slide on the seals. * Make sure the small end of the seal faces the injector pin (see picture). http://www.kstuned.com/files/content/0/142-2.jpg Step 3: Strip the end of the wire back. Step 4: Insert the wire into the pin and crimp the pin around the wire as shown *Make sure the open end of the pin faces the “W” part of the crimper (see picture) http://www.kstuned.com/files/content/0/142-3.jpg Step 5: Slide the seal down into the end of the pin and crimp the pin around the seal using the round part of the crimper (see picture) http://www.kstuned.com/files/content/0/142-4.jpg Step 6: Now just plug the pin into the back of the injector connector and you're done! *See picture for how the crimped pin should look. http://www.kstuned.com/files/content/0/142-5.jpg Step 7: Go faster and idle better than your friends that have big, stupid injectors. |
