AEM Boost Gauge Install?
I've been searching all over the internet for a video or pictures atleast of this install. There's a lot of threads from the past but the pictures don't work anymore. A lot of them say the easiest way is to go behind the glove box and use that rubber grommet back there. How do I remove the glove box? How do I route the cable/vacuum hose once it's in the engine bay? Where exactly do I T into in the engine bay? If anybody could get pictures of all of this I would appreciate it.

Try this Vid. Czero is one of our members & this should help
If you need a pic of where to tap into for the boost signal, let me know |
Hey Brad
Heres a pic of the boost line tap off of the mani. Keep in mind this is the stock RS set-up The other pic shows how Mitsu routed the boost line into the fender area & then into the interior & then to the back of the gauge. With the electronic setups, you may choose to keep the boost line in the engine bay & run the electrical to the sending unit & keep all the vacuum line in the engine bay Joe :usflag: https://cimg2.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.evo...b2925068d1.jpg https://cimg3.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.evo...6856a1c24d.jpg |
It looks like my 05 MR already has that line. How do I get to it from the cabin?

So you have an MR w/a boost gauge? If so, why not just tap into the line already inside the cabin?
Pull down your glove box. The trigger is in the upper left of the box at the stop. The little panel will push out, so you can pull down the box |
I’m guessing this line that leads to nowhere behind the glove box is the one to use?

If you are referring to a black vacuum line, that would be it. I just got my AEM gauges & im just going to tap into my interior vacuum line & install the sending unit to the vacuum line.

Brad. You on Cams? Seems like stock cam vacuum is approx -15 to -18 (your -16 looks Ok to me)
I think this is the spec here in the manual showing a Min of -15HG https://cimg2.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.evo...eabf4d9884.gif |
