SpeedSport Carbon Clutches and MIL.SPEC parts

SpeedSport Carbon/Carbon single: $1399 SHIPPED!!!

Choose between a steel flywheel and an aluminum flywheel (only recommended for race vehicles).

INFO

1) Carbon single is a full carbon-carbon system. 4 pucks attach to both the flywheel and pressure plate, and the disk is carbon faced.

2) Pressure plate has an integrated marcel spring that makes the clutch easier to modulate.

3) Should hold up for drag racing, actually better than most.

4) Pedal pressure is about 10% greater than stock.

5) Single carbon disk kit does not use a floating disk. its riveted to the hub.

• SFI certified with both steel and aluminum flywheel
• Holds 600 ft/lbs torque AT THE WHEELS
• Clutch is rebuildable

I will be highly interested to see how these hold up and the drive-ability. Its great price for a clutch that holds close to as much as an Exedy twin HD..

I confirmed the hp rating was at the wheels with RJ, the owner of Speed Sport today.

Actually sold the clutch to a customer in Vegas.

The aluminum flywheel is much lighter, but when I asked how much extra noise, I was quoted "Dog Box Loud." So, I would recommend the steel for people who run their cars on the street. I may test out the aluminum vs. the steel just so we can get some data for people.

When I say hold up, I mean longevity. I'm sure it can handle the power, carbon-carbon results in very high friction.

I would definitely stay with the steel fly, the evo really doesn't need a lighter clutch/fly assembly for street use.

light flywheels suck for an AWD car. this very basic fact seems to be void from forums. unfortunately clutch sellers are void of this as well. light has no launch momentum. requires higher rpms which is immensely harder on friction material. and hookabilty. launching at lower rpms immensely easier on everything. also contrary to popular belief heavy fly shifts great in drag race. engine revs down slower so its easier to rev match. easier on syncros.

Bump for a clutch that holds almost as much as an Exedy twin plate, without the annoying twin disc rattle.

Biffman is in the process of putting it on his car. My engine isn't back together yet, so mine is waiting to be put on. But Justin Bordonaro runs one on his Redline Time Attack Evo. He just won the AWD Modified class.

Here's a clip of him at another event:

I do agree with u big time on that one I have the exedy twin hd 6 great launches and that's it that lighter weight flywheel doesn't help or keep up with the task thanks for ur input helped me understand why I have launch issues.

Any info on the weight of the steel flywheel? How many people have used the single disc Carbon Carbon?

I'll have that info shortly. Total weight of clutch is ~28 pounds.

I have one for my car and Biffman has one. But neither car is on the road yet (Biffman is closer than I am).

Like I've said before, a local TA guy has one on his AWD Modified winning car and really likes the clutch.

I am also trying to get seat time in some local cars running the twin SpeedSport clutches.

It's being balanced with my assembly as we speak. But unfortunately, in the meantime, Speed Sport has decided to stop operations
