Dry Carbon, also known as "pre-preg" come in a variety of forms. Dry carbon generally differentiates itself from "wet" or "vacuum mold" carbon because the carbon fiber material comes pre-penetrated with the resin. This differs from "wet" where it is usually sprayed or handlaid on and "vacuum" where a vacuum bag is used to suck the resin out.

For the above products the material is pre-preg, then autoclaved for stiffness. The material is then sprayed with a UV clear coat to prevent damage from sunlight, exposure etc. If you examine the material you will notice that it is both harder and stronger than conventional carbon fiber aftermarket components (that are no dry carbon). EDIT: and much much thinner (lighter)
