Like I said, we're not copying the evo7 front, we are making a new design based on that style and is a stock replacement. However, that being said, I have the opportunity to make and use my own mould. Any ideas you have, please feel free to share. I am very interested in what the popular census is. It would be nice to make an "Evo M-Edition" kit for the good people in this forum. One of our advantages is that everything we do (carbon/plastic/urethane) except for paint will be made in house in the good ol' USA. So it's not going to be VIS or GTP quality junk.
I have no clue where I saw them. Sorry. The problem is the triangular post that the Mitsu emblem sits on protrudes out an inch or two, and the hood also protrudes out to match. If you go Evo 7 style then you just have a flat piece of mesh there and the hood will look out of place because it will stick out past th mesh. For the hood to match you will need to keep the triangular piece or come up with some clever way of getting round the pointy nose problem. If you compare the 7 hood and the 8 hood then you will see the end of the 7 hood is flat. While I understand that you are not producing an exact replica, you still have to do something about the pointy hood. Wish I had a suggestion for you, but the only one I can offer is to also produce a 7 style hood.

I know what you're talking about, I've seen it and I like that better too.

For those that do not know how to use google:

You make a good point. I will need to play with your idea for a little bit. I had a CWEST front for a long time, it does not have a nose, and I still thought it looked really good even with the 8 hood. Though, I never tried putting the mitsu logo on the mesh.

YES finally!... a bumper everyone can enjoy.

Being the master of form i am, i have though of these guidelines for the development. The jdm evo VII front looks strange because the front opening is super wide (there is no crash bar there) this makes the anles of the opening almost square. When you include the front crash bar the center section will be wider. This almost forcers a sharper angle. If you dont know what im talking about... just look at the gialla hood. The upper portion should look like this. I would advice keeping the rest very simple... making sure it aligns with the factory side skirts would be perfect.

What about creating it with an after market style lip on it already? or at least and optional lip. If you can produce this im definately down.

Yes, we are definitely doing the carbon fiber lip first - which will fit on the stock bumper. If you have any thoughts on what the lip should should look like, please advise. There will also be CF canards and a CF vortex roof spoiler like the MR.

Thats hot.. the only thing is it will not work with the current hood. The top opening needs to be from the evo IX.. Now if you photoshopped that altezza front with the top part of the evo IX front we would be in business. I dont think your going to find a whole lot of buyers if you need a new hood just to have this bumper.

The evo IX bumper is cool.. but what the hell is with those holes. I think this is the perfect oppurtunity to make something that combines all the best aspects of evo bumpers.

I'd say make it basically stock, without that triangle crap, and incorp the Do-Luck lip onto the bumper, in plastic... I totally shiver thinking about smashing a $700 CF lip on these ****ty roads... be destroyed in a couple days.... and i don't care much for those side-side vent too much, i'd leave them go... and please, no no NO ghilia/IX holes... they are hideous.....

idea about the pointed hood part... can you do a C-West bumper type scoop there that works with that pointed part of the hood??? just a suggestion... i think it'd work out nicely...

see... with that scoop there, i think you could get around the pointed hood part so you can get rid of that ugly triangle... I'd photoshop it, but i suck at it... haha...
