Talking Just when you think you're out..

They pull you back in. So, I'm in for a service on my 03 Evo a few months back, and there are 5 MRs. I chat with a salesperson about them, but for 40K, I'm not interested. I get a call on Thursday, "Since you're a return customer, we want to make a deal on the last MR we have." Thanks for teasing me...no way they would do the deal I wanted...but...wait...oh my...

Ended up being sticker, but they gave me about 25K for my 03...so not too bad. And there were a couple "quirks" with my 03 that I was happy to be rid of...just wish I could have pulled off a few more of the add-ons. Didn't have time as I had an appointment to get an exhaust put on my 03 on saturday....which I kept, just fired it on a brand new MR instead. And I did get to keep my great tails...thanks EvoDave

Man, you guys are quick wanting a price. I think they ended up giving me a bit more on the trade than it might have been worth on a "typical" trade...but that's what I told them to make the deal work...I didn't care if they paid me too much or took money off the MR...the price they have in the window there is about 40K, I got it for about 36K...I'd have to go check the paperwork to be 100% sure.

After driving the MR for a few days, I'm very happy. I had some shifing issues that Mitsu said they didn't "feel" (grind going into 3rd), mine seemed pretty low on boost (hadn't done a mod to fix that yet), and just a few little things like that. The new one (and this is not necessarily MR specific) shifts much better (although I'm not sure that the 6-speed is really necessary) and I'm running a lot of boost...the gauge that comes in the MR...well, I peg it and I'm still taking it easy. Interesting difference, but either way, I love the Evo. Just got sucked in by the MR...

The extra gear is odd. Never had a 6-speed before, and I always feel like I'm shifting into reverse at about 80mph....but I like it being there...just the location is not a place I'm used to putting a shift lever while moving.

And thanks all. I was thinking about the same thing about getting an MR, but this deal worked for me...never know. When the car you want falls in your lap, you have to enjoy it.

That happens to me every trip to the local dealer. I never buy though.
