SmokedMustang,

There will always be a number of knuckleheads that will tell you what to do with your car three ways from sunday... What bothers me most is the way that ppl respond - i.e., LOSE THIS, GET RID OF THAT, RICE blah blah yadda yadda. Bloody hell, people! Does everything have to be called "rice" if you dont like it, or it it gives the car a race look?

I think your graphics are well placed and they go with the theme of the car. Furthermore, if this is a track car then all the better - it looks like it BELONGS on a track.

If half the a$$hats on this site could have seen the types of things we were doing in Japan 10-15 years ago (well before the current US import craze) then they probably wouldnt know what to do with themselves. Granted, the U.S. import scene is taking its own shape and that outcome will be different that the JDM scene, however, I can personally say based on experience that the US side is waaaay behind. Behind in parts, tuning, and spirit. To add insult to injury, there are so many posers here that try to copy the Japanese style and fail miserably. Have you ever seen the guys in Japan who spend big $$$ to produce a replica rally car? These cars look, and feel, and PERFORM to rally specs - yet they are their personal cars. I think this concept is really lost here in the US.

Anyway - the point of my comment here - is that your car would fit in well with the Japanese way of doing it. As such, I respect your efforts, and wish you success with it.

Of course, the most important thing is the concept of "jiko manzoku" Personal satisfaction. Let the haters hate - dont waste your time worrying about it.

Exactly, you could have let me put in my .02 and go on like nothing happened, but you had to start an argument like you always do

its not my argument, but why continue to add fuel to the fire? Drop it and get the thread out of the gutter. Both of you ---->> TO YOUR ROOMS! NOW!

Because this happens everytime he posts pictures, and I'm trying to get him to understand my point of view. And with that, I'll be out... Until next time

Thanks!

Mark, Tanabe doesnt pay me anything. I chose that logo, as I wanted it to bring out the brakes with the red, the white to bring out the other stickers, and the black to bring out my wheels abit.

Just one question, I know I said I was out of the thread, but....... What tanabe parts do you have on your car? I noticed in your sig that it only says coilovers. Wouldn't you make the biggest sticker from the company that you have the most parts from, not the company whose sticker you liked the most??? That just doesn't make any sense to me. Sorry, I just trying to see if I can gain an understanding for why you did things the way you did it.

BTW, I never insulted you... only your car.

Alright, I apologize, I am sure if we met at a carshow/meet etc... and we didn't know each other, we would get along great! I dont care if you guys think the car looks like crap, thats ok. but telling me how to spend my money, etc.. is a personal attack in my book. There is no "smiles" with an olive branch or handshake, so take these words as that.

I only have Tanabe coilovers now, but will be getting more over the winter, to make it a track beast! I seriously did put the stickers on my car because my kids liked them, from looking in Sports Compact Car, watching fast and furious etc.. my kids are 7 (twins) and a 9 year old boy, said I should make it look like the ones in the magazine. I also do a yearly Charity event for Riley Hospital For Children here in Indy,(Import vs. Domestic= Drag race/slalom/skidpad/0-100-0) and the kids at the hospital like the car, and take pictures of it, and call it "Rileys Rocket".

I also use the stickers for advertising my practice: In big letters on the trunk it says www.DrButter.com on the back, and yes, it has helped my practice, the car is a driving billboard for the Winged Warrior show, as well as my practice. and when a parent, child who went to Riley see the car, they know what it stands for! The event is Mothersday weekend, and I have donated a boatload of money to the hospital, to help the kids get thru some serious, and at times terminal illnesses. All the kids want to take a parade lap at the event in the "race-car". and they do.

The vinlys are free, because I have a patient who has a Graphics company, and instead of paying for the vinyls, we trade services. ( I guess as I type this, I realize I am paying for it in-directly!). Hope this clarifies some of the questions.
