Okay guys I'm wondering if you any of you folks have had your front end re-painted because of the poor paint quality. And if yes how much? Same about the hood...

I got some quotes but it is really crazy expensize because they have to strip the old paint and then re-paint it....

Is is cheaper to get new hood and front bumper and have it painted?

 

I had my front bumper/hood repainted, along with a few other spots wetsanded, and a dent pulled for $400.

3 coats of paint, and 4 of clear. Took 2 days. Turned out beautiful...and I have a black car

 

WOW... Was this a local place? A guy quoted me for the hood and the front bumper $2000.00 ....

 

Is your paint fading cause if so you should be under warranty, not unless your trying to upgrade to higher quality paint

 

Paint is not really faded it looks like it was sand blasted.... I've had 4 Mitsubishi's and this is the first time I have had any problems. I understand getting a couple of chips here and there but if you look at my front end and front of the hood there are THOUSANDS of clips.....


Think I could still get it covered under warranty?

 

The shop I used is in Gaithersburg, MD.

 

2g's . You could get your hole car painted for that almost. Might as well repaint the hole thing then.

I guess you didn't give him the lube.... cause you'll need a couple of stitches if you pay that much for a hood and front bumper....

for about 2500 you can get your whole car painted a different color.

 

my hood is pretty much the same. it looks as if it were sandblasted (literally). Sad part is I drive all highway & keep at least 5 car lengths between me and the car in front of me (for this reason).

$200 a body panel is about average. I had my front bumper repainted & it was $200 total. $2000 is way way too much. even the most expensive places around here quoted me $300.

GOD I HATE THE OEM PAINT QUALITY. The guy who painted my front bumper (35 yrs experience) said that evo's & lancers have the worst oem paint quality that he has ever seen on a car. Apparently he repainted the front ends on a bby, rr & as also. I plan to get my whole car repainted within 2 years. I swear if i hit a bug on the highway it will take paint with it.
