Factory relocation kit + flip out DVD player?

My gf wanted to buy me a DVD (flip out style) player but I just got my factory relocation kit in and it looks like the screen wouldn't be able to clear the relocation kit/hvac knobs...anyone know if this will work or better yet have any pics?

a friend of mine with a reg lancer tried that but he had to put it in the top slot not in the relocated slot for that exact reason. You can certainly put the player in on the bottom but the screen will always be tilted down.

I have an Alpine IVA-D300 flip up screen in use with the factory relocation kit and it works fine. I had it professionally installed so I don't know any of the details on how they got it to work. It is close, but it clears the controls and it works great. There were some pictures of my car posted on "show and shine" in march I believe. There were pics of the dash. I'll try to fine them and re-post them here for you.

Thanks, really wondering how close it is...I might take my relocation kit down to circuit city and see if the face clears the relocation kit itself, not even the hvac controls.

If you guys want to pm me your e-mail addresses, I can send you the pics of my set up. I can't seem to get them to post up for me here, sorry. Also, if you want to go to "search" on the right side of the home page and type in "old guy met turbotrix" it will bring you to the pics. of my car. I do have better ones that are not posted that show the screen open.

I have the same idea.

The units that would work are the Kenwood's... they flip out in a completely different way.

I havent put one in yet, but if you check how the kenwood comes out you will understand.

Check out the Kenwood KVT-915DVD or any of their current line..

Here's mine. Pioneer it have a flip down button (half flip) that goes back up after a 10 second, to give way to the a/c control.
