evo ix's do not have a coated header

 

Yes, that is the thread I made, thank you, as I had forgotten exactly what it was called.

 

Mine was coated, just not as well as the new ones. Hence the beginning of the manifold not having been rusted. The new ones have a completely bluish coating, as you can read from their testimony's in the other thread given.

So your manifold was coated stock...from the factory? Yet, they did a poor job of coating it? hmm

The new Evo 9s are coated from the factory in a full bluish coating, you can go to the other thread and see.

 

I believe you. But, if yours is coated from the factory, why didn't they coat the whole thing? I'd take it back..

 

They didn't coat any of the old Evo 9s. Only the last few months have received coating. I doubt they'd coat mine.

The maps appear to be exactly the same. They just have different numbers assigned to them. The only thing that may be different are some wastegate settings which cannot be read. Check out the ecuflash section for more info.

 

Other than show cars, why do people spend so much money on their engine-bay? It just gets dirty all the time, most people only see the outside, cops.
