Kaixen Hids vs Import Image

I understand the Kaixen HIDS are a very high quality kit, I was interested in some of the expiriences members have had with the import image 6000k hid kit. Has anyone ran the import image kit for more than 2 years? How is the quality compared to a kit like Kaixen with similar pricing. Im putting the kit on a 2005 non-ssl , non-hid .

Kaixen is okay, my friend has had it fro about 6 months, no problem. I have never seen the import image kit. I have heard its best to go with OEM ballasts and bulbs(i.e Phillips, denso, bosch, osram, etc) also if your looking for the best light output look into 4300k-5000k Might not be the blue purple you want but can sure get some nice colorbands.

I agree with what you say as well. I've never understood why people go with 5000k+++++ kits. If you want the color, look at the cutoff on that pic. People will surely see your lights coming, changing from blue...purple..white...etc.

Its fairly easy to modify the sheilds, even on stock projectors to make more color around the cutoff. Just the hassle of taking the lamps apart!

The best projectors to use for a retrofit IMO are Acura TL, TSX, and Honda S2000 Projectors and oem HID kits. The reason being is they aren't too expensive, only around $800ish and they have nice color bands and cut offs. So if I were you I would look around for some TSX projectors, most don't come with ballasts so you'd have to get them seperate.

I've had the HID kit from Import Image, lasted less than a year before the passenger side ballast blew out. They offer a warranty for one year but they make you send it back to the manufacturer, then they inspect it and ship you out a new set. This whole process would have taken over 2 weeks. So I went and ordered the Kaixen, the quality is much better, installation is easy, although not as bright and scattered as the Import Image kit, Kaixen has a nice cut-off and overall brighter than the stock halogens.

Even with OEM bulbs and ballasts in the evo halogen projectors, output WILL NOT look like this

This picture is of color modded OEM HID porjectors that have been retrofited into a headlight housing

kaixen, import image are from all the same manufacturer that the rest of the ebay companies outsource. pilot, mcullogh are also the same manufacturers, just different ones than the kaixen or import image. Osram = Philips. Bosch makes their own.
