I think 20% is perfect. I have that on my Evo and love it. I had 5% on my SRT and it was a PIA to back up and see out of the windows at night. I have zero problems driving anytime with the 20.

i still vote 5%. but like i said earlier, go with what you can handle, and feel comfortable with. 5% does keep it nice and cool inside the car when its hot, and in the day time, you can see inside the car at all. for me, i like the privacy aspect of it for sure.

Been doing lots of research in the forums. So I decided to get all windows tinted except front windshield of course. Only thing is it has to be 56% or lighter for it to pass inspection according to a local auto shop(Japanese GT Auto) I called. I've never seen what 56% tint on a car looks like. Can anyone post a pic or link?

You will (leagally) pass if it is on back door windows, quarter windows, or rear window ONLY. No front side window tinting allowed, unless you go to an idependant inspection station and they pass you illegally, which means you don't have to worry about light transmission percentage at all.

i got 45 on all doors, 35 on the back window, 2 overcast,3rd pic is in shadow, looks same at nite, no cop problems

I've got 20% all around and anything on the front side windows in IL is ILlegal. Haven't pulled me over yet... If you want it that bad, push the envolope. You can always play stupid if you get tagged. Sometimes it works...
