Has anyone used the "wheel paint" they have at AutoZone?

I used the "wheel clear coat" and it was junk! nozzle would drip out clear.. leaving drops on your wheel.. I would just use any regular clear for that.. The paint though I have heard is decent.. But I always use a basic spray paint..

It's quick, cheap and looks great.
Rustoleum flat is my pref.

I haven't used it, but a friend has. Looks great if you're going for other than black (like bronze, silver or gunmetal). If you want black, better to use regular gloss or semi-flat (which is next for me) since it looks the same and costs much less.

Or $220 towards the next time you have to do it cuz it wont last as long...and do you have a better picture, cuz for some reason mine look like they have more gloss to it, oh or it might just be that you used a rattle can

That's funny, because I have yet to repaint them and I've had it done since November.

I don't give a flying **** about gloss, I like a flatter look.

Alright well I like the gloss, so powder coating works for me, you like the flat look, so painting works for you, I won't get pissed, post em up. Well if mine break ill have you paint my next ones

Correct me if I am wrong, but I thought that powdercoating just grabs onto the metal and does not go into metal. I was thinking that that anodizing process is what will go into metal, not powdercoating.

i just heard about the curing process when they heat them up.... throw em in an oven or something... thats why they get a little more brittle. but idk.

someone already said it correctly. high temp powdercoating can cause microfractures in the metal, making it weaker so under heavy track use there's a possibility of failure. low temperature powdercoating would be the best option, because powdercoating is a hell of a lot more durable than paint, and there risk of failure is eliminated. I'll be painting mine only because there's nobody who does powdercoating of any kind around here, and becuase i don't really give a **** about my stock BBS's. i just want to paint them black to hold me until i get the RE30's.
