If you mandrel bend it then it will create all those little creases inside, which create turbulence where if you weld it together it will be completely smooth inside..at least i believe thats why they did it..

Mandrel bending does not cause creases, regular bending can..

Some bends are too tight to do with a mandrel bender, some materials don't bend well and therefore need to be cut/sliced to get the proper bends.

This is not the best exhaust out there; simply the most expensive. Without a 3.5" turboback, it's probably pretty useless, actually.

Does this fit a US-Spec IX SE w/ ACD?

Resurrecting an old thread...

The OP said this is a cat-back. The pictures provided shows it is a cat-back. I would assume that being a cat-back, it could fit on any CT9A (VII-IX).

I am confused is to why on Mines website, they would specify this exhaust only being for an E7, E8:
Japanese Site:
http://www.mines-wave.com/JP/CATALOG...ILENCE-VX_P_Ti

English Site:
http://www.mines-wave.com/E_09/CATAL...ILENCE-VX_P_Ti

I also found this thread which hints that if you have an ACD equipped car, not all TB and DPB exhaust will work for ACD equipped cars:
https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/ev...t-evo-9-a.html
(my assumption is to why this exhaust should fit any CT9A)

I want to believe Mines made an honest mistake on their website (didn't go back and update the webpage when the IX was released). Though, they updated the webpage with E10 bits. This thread at least answered my question if this exhaust was TB, DPB, or CB.

Can anyone tell me if this exhaust will fit a US-Spec IX SE equipped with ACD?

p.s If anyone from Bullet Proof Auto or Evasive Motorsports sees this, if you can chime in with the facts here, that would be greatly appreciated and would save me writing e-mails.

I have one off these Ti exhausts fitted on my JDM IX. Don't know if that helps at all but I will say this, it's the best sounding & quality exhaust I've ever fitted too my car

You have confused yourself. This exhaust will fit on both an Evo 8 and Evo 9. Its a cat-back. ACD fitment is not the concern. Common sense tells me this JDM part will be made for a JDM rear bumper. So if you try to use it with a USDM bumper and it will just be too short for the bumper.
