EVO 8 spent the day in the sand pit....

Spent the morning, early afternoon shooting up some targets out in Long Island.
I got to fire a Sig Sauer P228 9mm pistol, and a Colt M1991A1 .45 cal pistol....
I'm pretty dead on accurate with the 9mm, but with the .45 I couldnt land but one shot on a target like 20 feet away... yeah so I need some more practice....
Cool. You need to pull the trigger slow, your probably flinching. Don't anticipate the shot, just let it happen.
I would also like to shoot a 1911, probably the best looking hand gun out there.

The 1911A1 was a nice gun, it sure gave a nice kick....the 9mm gave slightly less kick though but its a more accurate gun. The .45 takes a lot of shooting practice to get good and shoot it accurately on target....
Yeah, thats what my buddy was telling me, I was getting nervous and anticipating the shot, thats why I was missing the target....On the very first shot I took I hit the target, mainly because I was natural and didnt expect anything, but ohh well... it was fun. I had to get outta there real quick cuz it was a 100 degree day today in the sand pit.... I could feel the pimples in my face popping lol....

Few suggestions:
1. Bend your knees a bit.
2. Lean forward not backwards.
3. Arch your back.
4. Left hand exerts more effort than right hand.
5. Smoothly (dont jerk it) pull the trigger with the tip of your forefinger only.

^^^ Gotta agree. I was on rifle team in HS and shot competively and thats what they taught us when shooting standing. Biggest thing for me was to breathe slowly and when your ready for the shot breathe out slowly and pull the trigger!
^^ yup...He also needs to put his left foot forward...even im not in the service i did some shooting for 3 years till i moved here in US. Although i've been shooting 22 caliber since i was 12 yr old(the way he aim, stand, hold esp the right shoulder so stiff, are not so right) His gun sight, right shoulder and head is not aligned too.
BTW I used to owned a 9mm M-40 Firestar.

yeah it was my first time out shooting semi-auto handguns.....
I leaned back cuz I wanted to use the guns sights... but I still missed my friggin target with the .45 anyway even at 20 ft away.... I guess if I ever got into a gun fight at 20' away I can empty a whole clip and not land a hit...
I'll probably have to bring the 9mm though, I can shoot pretty accurately with the Sig....
anyway, I'm open to learning proper shooting technique, whether it be how to stand, hold the gun, breathe etc etc...
I was thinking of that when I got there I wanted to do some practice shots from the driver seat of my EVO like, ya know... drive by shooting style.... I figure they wouldnt like that...

need to work on ur form a bit...lock that left elbow and no leaning...u could try standing square (toes pointing at target) knees bent crouching a bit...thats a newer stance some people find better
