since you need to tow evo's on a flatbed anyways.. what is the point of these? chop pedistrians legs in half? 100% show?

I wouldnt give the tow guy any reason to think it could be towed like a 2wd car...

They are for cars that are tracked often, with the associated risk of breaking down and having to be cleared off. some sanctioning bodies require tow hooks for certain race classes.

BTW using a tow-hook to move the car will not damage the drivetrain because it's AWD (picking up one axis and keeping it fixed while dragging the other is what will cause damage). A tow hook will be helpful in getting your car onto a flat-bed too (if installed correctly).

I don't think they look nice, but as a necessary evil, I have seen some mounted in the oilcooler vents in the front bumper that do not stick out quite as obnoxiously.

where does one go about getting one of these? I track pretty often here in Cali and these sure would come in pretty handy instead of having the pit guys reaching below your car, looking for the factory tow, damaging the bumpers, etc....

There are a lot of hardparkers on honda-tech, some who are even proud of that fact. I don't get it. Why buy the gear if you're not gonna run the car hard....
