Have you had your car in the rain since then? Do you get any condensation?

it´s not that hard.. just take the lights of the car.. Get a heatgun and slowly try and heating apart. When u get it apart just use red fiber cloth or something to scratch it down and spray the chrome thingy black like this

and up with this

how do you think he got to be a pro at it? by trying it himself.

it's not like someone is asking how to rebuild their diffs or something.

I painted my headlights as well. Wasn't that bad, I thought it was going to be a lot worse. Getting it apart was pretty easy, painting was real easy, and then putting it back together properly wasn't that bad either. I used clear silicone to put mine back together, no condensation, no problems since.

I did mine a few months ago, the hardest part for me was getting them apart. It took me a day. Results are awesome, I love it. I think I wam going to do the blinker and the top side daylights black instead of that orange. The only thing is i have a little leak....ya ya..didnt seal it to well. Sux so i have to go around a reseal it. Here is pic of mine...if anyone has there tails done can you post a pic?

+ 1 Great thread.

Anymore pics of heads and tails from those who did em themselves would be great to. I considering doing it myself as well. Thanks

I thought the amber piece just snapped in...???? Im going to be doing this this weekend and i have one more question. what exactly are you all using to re-seal the headlamps? I have seen people that said they used windshield repair stuff, but i go to the auto-pats store and its in a tiny-a$$ bottle..just wanna make sure exactly what i need before jumping into this. cuz ive cleared my whole weekend already

no its not windsheild repair its 3M windsheild sealer. You will need a Caulk gun in order to use it though.
