General Motors does this - you can get two different names with the same color code, or get the same name on a different color code. Usually its on different car models. You might have a 2002 Cavalier with code 1B called Robin Egg blue, and a 2002 Buick in Sky blue with the same 1B code. Two different names but the same color. Then no light blue color for a few years, and then when the new Cobalt comes out they call it Robin Egg blue but its code 3F and a different shade of blue than the earlier 1B Robin Egg blue. Maddening.

I don't understand why Mitsu sells them as the same part number now, if what the first page says is true, they are distinctly different enough to look mismatched if somone were to repaint part of a car with the wrong one.
In 2003 there were two whites: W13 was Diamond white (looks like the whitest white to me) and W83 was Innsbruck White (slightly bluish next to Diamond white)

In 2004 only the W83 Innsbruck White was offered.

In 2005 it was again two colors plus a third: W13 Diamond white (looks like the whitest) and W83 Innsbruck White (slightly bluish) – and a third color was listed called W37 “InnsbruckWhite/Wicked White” that was darker than either of the other two, and looked a little silver or grayish white. It almost looks like the Apex silver when side by side on the color swatches. My 2005 USDM Evo 8 GSR has code W37 and it just looks white to me. Not bright white, but just vanilla yogurt white. But I never parked it next to the other white colors.

In 2006 & 2008 only the W37 “InnsbruckWhite/Wicked White” is listed. Still looks grayish.

Well yeah but that Diamond White or whatever wasn't on USDM Evos. You could get it on a Lancer Ralliart in 2004, but I don't remember if it was available on a 2003 anything. There's a few pictures on this site of the two whites in Evos parked side by side and even people who have put spoilers/bumper covers on of the different whites. But that Ralliart (and maybe Outlander) white Diamond color has a pearly blue quality to it and would stick out worse IMO. Might look good to paint the whole car in it, but I haven't seen that done yet.
