Just bumping this up for more answers.

From what I've read in this thread and what I've read online:

- Some say metal polish, others say too harsh for titanium
- Some say wd40 and rag
- Some say simply soap and water

What is really the best way? I just got a new exhaust and don't want to **** it up.

 

water and dish soap (dial) will probably be your best bet to start. Most likely it will be the least harsh and you wont have to spend any money to get it.

I posted a thread asking the same question. I used WD40 with warm water. THAT DID THE TRICK! All the sutt on the edge of my TI tip came off with a 100% cotton rag. after that u can use a metal polish.

 

And it didn't ruin the finish? or take off the burnt tip right?

Has anyone tried the WD-40 method on any ARC titanium pieces? I used dial and warm water and it got alot of the dirt off but my ARC pieces are still dirty. I might try washing them again with dial.

 

Yes use the WD40 and a rag, everything will come off your piece of Ti just fine. Akropovic even recommends that as a way to clean their Ti street bike systems. Don't even worry about wiping it off, it will burn off when your exhaust gets hot. And to the OP - sorry that piece is dirty as hell but you can make it shine!

 

I tried some wd-40 and a rag on my ARC titanium pieces and it actually cleaned them some more.
