Does anybody make a white faced gauge kit?

I can't take the dark red numbers on the black background. I can see them OK at night but on a bright day I loose the numbers in the shadows, especially the speedo.

Does anybody make a kit to replace the red on black with a combination with better contrast? White on black, black on white? I was at one of the forum's sponsors the other day and they had a kit like this but it wasn't for an EVO.

Sure. Trade your Evo cluster for my OZ cluster. You'll be very happy, I'm sure.

Seriously though, there are no guage faces available for the Evo yet (or the Lancer, for that matter). It's possible that I've overlooked something somewhere, but searching this site has provided only requests and rumors.

Sorry man. You're stuck for now.

I'll bet someone with an ES (for example ME) would trade you starit up, and probobly even pay for shipping on both clusters.

I think the gagues are interchagable, aren't they? same fit I believe.

EDIT: there is a group project on face replacment for the ES I believe, but thats it.

Ralliart has a new cluster with ACD markings and a 10K redline. It's kind of off-white (like Honda white), but it's also in Km/H not Mph. I like it but am not sure if I want it or not. Too bad we don't have some cool electroluminescent lights (a la Lexus). And you "hardcore" people out there, don't tell me it would slow the car down... I'd pay the extra $$$ for something nicer to look at.

Thanks for the Ralliart tip. I found the dash above but I can't figure out how much it costs cause everything is in Japanese.

All I want is the dash overlay anyway not a new gauge cluster. There is something extra in the picture in the tach with "low medium high" lights but I don't know what it is.

Dale the cluster is way to much like $500.00 and the low medium high is what our evo's are missing. I would wait a little while and mayne someone will come out with one. Hope this helps.

www.speedhut.com will make custom guages for you individually or they will set up a group buy type of thing called "Model Development" for a particular car and not tool or build anything until they get the required number of people to put down a $1.00 deposit. The don't have the Lancer or EVO as off the shelf, but I'm sure we could get enough people on here to get them to do it for us.

I'd be very interested in doing something like this.

Yep, I sent an email to this weekend and got a reply this morning:

Hi,

We don't currently offer EL-Glo Dial Kit's or Bezels for your dash.
However, some vehicles have identical dash clusters. Please check out
our site at www.SPEEDHUT.com to see if parts for your dash are
available. If you are interested in becoming a Group Leader for your
cluster, please read the info below:

***The Group Leader is the one who sends in the cluster for his car.
Please don't use your own vehicle's cluster, we don't send it back.
The
best thing is to get a cluster from a junkyard (it does NOT have to be
in working condition HOWEVER it DOES need to have everything intact -
ie
needles, etc).

Please do not spend a lot of money on Postage sending your cluster to
us. Send it Ground Mail or whichever way is cheapest. Please make
sure
it is INSURED for your protection! ***And remember to add your contact
information in the package.

Once you send it to us we will consider you the Group Leader for your
vehicle. We will then be able to add your cluster to our Group Buy
Program. Then it will be up to you, as the Group Leader, to answer
emails pertaining to your cluster about the Group Buy. We will be in
contact with you through out the process.

Once we receive 25 Pre Orders we will begin tooling for your car. You
as
the Group leader will get your EL-Glo Dial kit for FREE. We also offer
additional discounts to you and your Group. *Free Text, Free Graphics
(ie Flames, Race Stripes, etc), Free Logo's off of our Standard Logo
page. In addition, we have your Group (through you) pick one
additional
logo to add to your list of options. Usually this is your Cars Make or
Group Logo.

We also can add the Km/h version to the Pre Orders for FREE as long as
we have at least 5 Km/h Pre Orders. If there are less than 5 people
wanting Km/h then those that want Km/h will split $20.00 between
themselves to have Km/h put on the gauges instead of MPH (i.e. For 4
people $5.00 will be added to each of their orders).

The price for our Pre Order Program EL Glow Dial Kit's is generally
around $99.95 plus $8.00 USA S&H per Pre Order.

Thank you for your interest and please email us if there are any
further
questions.

***Please check out our NEW 2" Custom Gauge Line at
www.Speedhut.com!
Customize your Dial, Bezel and Pointer to match your interior! We
will
be adding New Custom Products to our Gauge Line this Summer. Please
check back!
Thanks,

Speedhut.com team

Subject: where is my car form

Name:Seth
Car:Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution
City:
Car:Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution
Comments:Over on Evolutionm.net there are bunch of folks with Lancers
and Lancer Evolutions that are very interested in changing the look
and
coloring of their guages, I was referred to you by friends over at
focaljet and I was wondering what is the best way to set something up
and suggestions on how to market it to get people interested. Where
did
you hear about us?:my web car forum
I would set this up, but I've got no clue where to find a used/cheap guage clutster, and I believe ours would have to work, because the lighting isn't standard.

Any ideas?

If you guys want a reverse indiglo like we've got going for the ES/LS, PM me and I'll get you in contact with the folks that are doing ours right now. Here's a link to that thread for some basic info on the kit we've got in the works.

Thanks for the info. I followed your thread and I think I could live with what I see. Please post a message when you get your gauges. I would probably face the same difficulties as you in finding 10 people to pay up front.

I still want to hear about them when you get em.

Will do, as I'd love to get the whole lot of gauges done (ES/LS, OZ, Evo). And rest assured that I'm not getting anything from the company either, just doing my bit to help out the community.

That's cool. I would like a new cluster.
