Evo Leather interior kit available

Just spoke with Katzkin leather interiors a little earlier and they confirmed that they do currently have a pattern for the 03' Lancer Evolution. The reference number for the pattern is BMI42 as the web site has not been updated with this recently added application.

According to the Katzkin rep the interior kit includes front and rear seat covers and door panel inserts. 100% leather option is available as is two-tone leather or a leather / suede-alcantara type material for the seat inserts. This would look a lot like the pictures of the FQ300 two tone leather seats recently posted.

I can't personally pop for the cost right now, but I can definitely imagine spending some money on adding a kit downstream!

Just an FYI!

Hello N10S,

Did they give an idea of what the cost would be?

Heck, the stock seats in an EVO are standard base model Recaros. Any other Recaro should fit on the same mounts.

Try an Ergomed DS, if you want all the adjustments, or one of the touring seats for comfort / appearance.

Wilson, I tried to get a price out of them but they kept referring me back to my local distributor. If they are priced like the other Katzkin kits they will probably fall into the $800-$1000 range.

Group buys typically end-up in the $650-850 range. I am going to check with the local dealer tomorrow. You know how good a yellow car looks with black leather right wilson?

Edit: Heres the link above to the post with the pics of the leather seats in the FQ300. First page has a grey with black alcantara and the second page shows a red with dark charcoal alcantara. We won't get the nice deep bolsters, but if the look is similar I think it would really make the Evo's interior look a lot more finished.
BTW- The leather covers are just that.... aftermarket covers that have been coordinated as a part of the FQ300 kit. I actually found the UK seat cover maker that makes them and sent an inquiry e-mail. No need to bother though, if we can get a similar product stateside. If the FQ300 seat pictured were true Recaro factory leather they would still have the Recaro emblem on the seat. As it is a seat cover manufacturer can get away with adding a roman numeral VIII or FQ300, but Recaro is certainly trademark protected.

Just confirmed with the local distributor that pricing for the regular leather interior kit is $850 including shipping/freight before local taxes. Price installed is $1,295 before tax. I am sure that each local install shop will differ slightly, but this will at least give you an idea.

I am also ceratin that the alcantara suede inserts will add a little to the cost as would 100% leather. I figure a group buy should push these kits into the $650-750 range (only a guestimate).

A black alcantara insert with red leather borders, like in the FQ300 would be niiiiiiice.
How can we see or suggest the patterns of the seats?

You can get info on colors and combos on the Katzkin site at www.katzkin.com They are located in Ca so perhaps they are close enough to visit? Btw- The site is not currently updated with the Evo information. When I called them they referred to the kit as the "Lancer Evolution" kit, not the "Evolution VIII" kit.

Not sure if they have any pics they can send or not. Surely they had to actually dismantle an Evo interior and actually install a kit to ensure proper fitment.
