Scratch marks under fluorescent lights..

Anyone elses car look really scratched up under fluorescent lights? They are hard to see in sunlight unless you look real close but fluorescent lights seem to really bring them out. Any way of removing them...you cant feel them with your hands so they cant be deep...

Those are swirl marks. You caused them by using the wrong washing sponges or drying towels. Use microfiber sponges and towels from now on.

I use old fashioned baby diapers. They are 100% cotton and pretty soft. I also use Zanio Z5 and Z2.

Maybe the dealer who prepped and wash your car did it.

I just removed water spots off my car with 3M Rubbing Compound and it works great for swirls and small scratches too.

Here's what I am talking about...You can see them until you get real close or the really come out under fluorscent lights. You can't feel them either...

if you cannot feel them, that is a GOOD thing because you can remove them with a light abrasive...my guess is that you are causing these during your washing and drying...like Thoe99 said, get some microfiber towels for drying/wiping wax residue and either a 100% cotton or 100% sheepskin wash mitt...

being that it didn't go down to the metal, that is a GOOD thing...without really looking/feeling the scratch it's kinda hard to say...however, when you get a chance, see if you can feel the scratch with your finger nail...if you can there really is no cure other than touch-up paint/wetsand or repaint...but the next best thing that you could do is to minimize the appearance of the scratch--the scratch will still be there but just less noticeable...

not sure what supplies you have, or are around you but a decent local product is Meguiars scratch x or GS27 (can be bought @ Walmart/Target etc.)...apply some of that to a Meg's wax applicator pad (Yellow circular wax pads -- can also be bought @ walmart/target)...concentrating only on the scratch, work in the Meg's ScratchX
ALONG the scratch -- don't work /rub in perpendicular...what you are trying to do is round off the edges of the scratch...repeat a few times if necessary...

it's good that you have a silver car...any other color i'm sure that scratch would be more noticeable...

hope this helps...
