Rally Red Non Clear Coat After My First Zaino

No clear
I assure you that the red cars don't come from the factory with a clear coat. If you are using just wax, it isn't abrasive enough to remove any paint, so that might be why you don't see any paint on your rags.
Also, it is possible someone clear-coated your car at some point, but that is unlikely. Just use a cleaner wax or a mild polish and use a little pressure. You'll see lots of red in no time. Just like polishing a red Ferrari....

If you use Zaino they don't contain any abrasives... I've never seen paint on my cloth while waxing.. however I did have a 89 5.0 a few years ago and after using Meguirs (spelling) my white towel was red.
It's been months since my last post on this thread and my car is still bling bling from zaino

This is such a weird topic. When I first bought my car they asked if I wanted to get a clear coat put on but they said i could never wax the car and that it would cost $1500 so I said No. Then I read this thread a long time ago and I figured that if i wax my car that Id get paint on the adapter and towel, but since then Ive tried couple of different kinds of wax and none of them took the paint off. So what the hell is the real story on the rally red???

I use Zymol on mine, which is actually a cleaner wax, and I don't get any red on my rag at all. The only time I've had red was when i used Goo Gone for removing the badges, and the first wax on the hood because the dealer buffed out some scratches, but it was only the hood that got red off. But I've put probably a good 4-5 coats on since then and not a spot of red at all.
